  Recently, At Google’s annual Google I/O developer conference, the first smartwatches based on the highly anticipated Android Wear operating system for wearable devices debuted to great acclaim.   · Qualcomm provides proven, commercialized solutions in the 3 key growth segments: Infotainment (Toq Reference Design, LG G smartwatch, Samsung smartwatch), fitness trackers and healthcare (Q Life / 2net). Qualcomm is already engaged with companies working in the primary categories in this exciting new segment (smartwatches, healthcare/medical, etc.)

  · Qualcomm R&D investment in wireless and semiconductor technologies (processors, modems, sensors, connectivity, software, etc.) total more than $16.5B in just the last 5 years, which demonstrates their commitment to many technologies relevant to wearables

  Qualcomm is working closely with Google and our OEM customers, to help enable the development of many more Android Wear-based devices. We are excited to be supporting Android Wear with the Snapdragon 400 processor and will continue to evaluate additional opportunities to utilize Qualcomm Technologies’ many mobile assets in the wearables segment.

  We see opportunities in the market with our existing and new partners to provide wearable solutions across the value chain. Qualcomm is uniquely positioned to be able to provide customized, low-power Snapdragon processors to those seeking to develop for a range of different high-level OSs, while also providing emerging brands a completely realized low-power, multi-day infotainment or fitness tracker device based on the Toq reference design.

  We are actively working with a number of OEM customers including Chinese OEMs, on more than 10 Snapdragon 400 powered wearable designs.
